What is Airofit?

Airofit is a respiratory training system that improves athletes’ performance through tested breathing exercises. Whether you’re running, cycling, swimming or simply want overall better wellbeing; an improved respiratory system will benefit you. The best part – it will only take 10 minutes a day as Airofit is designed to be used separately from other physical activity.

How does Airofit work?

The Airofit Breathing Trainer contains resistance wheels that provide adjustable restricted airflow. This resistance causes fatigue in your breathing muscles which is then compensated by muscle tissue growth, making your respiratory muscles stronger, faster and more efficient.

Airofit pairs with your smartphone, which gives you live feedback, guidance and the ability to track your progress. The mobile app consists of various training programs that target different areas of your breathing like Respiratory strength, Vital capacity, and Anaerobic threshold.

How and when do I use Airofit?

Airofit is designed to be used separately from any other physical activity. This means that you can use Airofit in any free moment – before bed, at work, after a gym session or whatever suits you best.

Training is done with your smartphone in front of you, as the app will guide you through every exercise via live feedback and data visualization.

How is Airofit different from other breathing trainers?

Airofit is the first and only truly smart breathing trainer on the market. We know that one size does not fit all, therefore all Airofit training programs are tailored to YOU – we take into consideration your age, size, gender, and preference. Airofit also measures your vital lung capacity and breathing muscle strength. We take all that data as a baseline for your training and enable you to start and progress through your training correctly.

Airofit is also the only breathing trainer that goes beyond simple respiratory muscle training (RMT). We also address other aspects of breathing, like Respiratory strength, Vital capacity, Anaerobic threshold, and relaxation. We ensure that you can train harder, recover faster and most importantly – perform better.

What is the difference between the Active and the PRO?

The Pro will offer Bluetooth connectivity allowing for live program guidance, feedback, and progress tracking. The Active, is exact same as the Pro in terms of design, look and feel. However, the Active will not have Bluetooth connectivity, and thus you would not receive progression tracking or live feedback on how you are performing the training sessions.

How do I know Airofit works?

Airofit is based on countless research within the respiratory training area. Refer to our Science section to see the most relevant research papers.

Airofit has also been tested by an international Med-tech company AMBU. After testing Airofit on 68 healthy individuals, the group training on the highest resistance settings showed an average performance improvement of 15% in a standard Cooper running test.

Can Airofit help if I have asthma?

When developed by AMBU, Airofit was originally designed as an asthma and COPD aid. Respiratory training is known to help with asthma symptoms.

In asthmatics, variety in tidal volumes is very common – their breathing muscles are working far from the optimal capacity. This makes them inactive and results in dyspnea/shortness of breath. This becomes most obvious during exercise, so you waste even more energy on breathing alone.

We are working with several asthmatics and their feedback is great – from easier asthma medication inhalation to lack of symptoms altogether. However, there are many different types and degrees of Asthma, so we strongly recommend you first consult with your doctor about respiratory training.

Is there an age limit for using Airofit?

There is no age limitation to using Airofit. However, the mobile app does not let you register if you are under 13. This is because your results are measured compared to an average of an individual the same age – there is simply no quantitative respiratory data on children below 13. You can still use Airofit and all its features if you’re younger, but the data will be compared to a 13-year-old.

If you are under 15, we strongly advise training with adult supervision.

How often should I use Airofit?

We recommend that you start training 2×5 minutes every day. We have found that 2×10 minutes per day is the optimal training schedule, but you should gradually work your way up to it.

Your breathing muscles are just another muscle group. You should always ‘listen’ to your body. If the training gets too intense, take a break. 

In how many languages is the app available? 

The app is currently available in 13 languages: Arabic, Danish, Dutch, English, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin, Portuguese, Spanish, and Turkish. 

Premium membership

What is included in the premium membership?

The premium membership will allow you to select a specific focus area and create a program for you to follow based on your selection. You will also gain access to advanced statistics, giving you the ability to compare yourself against other of the same age, weight, and height.

Do I need the premium membership to use the app?

Not at all. The app is free to download and contains all the same individual exercises that are available with the premium membership. You will also have access to some statistics so that you can gauge how you are progressing.

I accidentally signed up for the subscription. How do I cancel it?

To cancel your subscription, you will have to proceed to your account settings within either the Google play store or the App store.

I purchased the lifetime subscription at a one-time fee. How do I activate it?

If you purchased the lifetime subscription via our website then the activation is done manually by our team. This typically takes around 2-3 business days from time of purchase.

We ask that you use the same email to register your Airofit account as you at time of purchase. If you used a different email, please write to us at [email protected] and include your order number for reference.

Please note, the email must already be registered to an account before we can grant it access.

Please ensure that you do not sign up for the free trial. As apple/android will begin to charge you at the end of the 30 days regardless of what we do on our end. Should you accidentally have signed up for the 30 day free trial. Simply cancel that to avoid being charged.

Delivery and Returns

What is the delivery time and cost to my country?

The delivery time and cost vary according to your selected method.

Can I track my order?

When your order is handled by our warehouse and ready to be shipped, you will receive an email including your tracking number so you can keep an eye on your shipment.

Do I have to cover any additional costs (e.g. taxes, customs fees)?

When shipping within the EU, taxes are included in the price, so you should not be charged any additional fees.

When shipping outside the EU, taxes are not included in the sales price. This means that your purchase might be subject to local taxes and customs clearance fees. 

What should I do if the delivered product is damaged?

Even though all products are thoroughly inspected before the shipment, these situations happen. Unfortunately, Airofit has no control over the delivery process. Please fill out our PRA form (Download here), take a picture/video of the damaged product and send it by email to [email protected]. You will hear from us within one business day and we will try to solve your issue as soon as possible.

What is the warranty period?

Airofit offers a 2-year warranty on our product. The warranty covers all the manufacturer’s faults. The warranty however does not cover damaged devices due to day-to-day use and other damages caused by accidents. In order to examine whether the errors are covered by the warranty, fill out our PRA form here, and send it to [email protected] together with enclosed photos/video of the damage. You will hear from us within one business day and we will solve your issue as soon as possible.

How can I return the product?

If you bought Airofit breathing trainer directly through our web shop: Airofit has a 45-day money-back guarantee return policy. If you wish to return the product, fill out our PRA form here and send it to [email protected]. You will receive a product return instruction email within one business day. If you bought Airofit breathing trainer at retail or online stores: The trainers purchased at retail or online stores must be returned where you purchased them. Return policies may vary.

What should I do if I haven’t received the product?

Technical questions

How can I get the Airofit app?

You can download the Airofit Sport App from App Store on iOS devices and from Google Play Store on Android devices and install it on your smartphone.

Please note that Airofit is compatible with iOS version 11 or newer, and Android version 7 or newer

How do I clean my Airofit respiratory trainer?

Always remove the E-unit before cleaning with water or other liquids! 

After each training we recommend that you wash the device in warm water, shake off excess water and blow through the device to remove water that might still be inside the device. Dry fully with a clean towel.

How do I hold the trainer properly?

You should be relaxed and standing or sitting upright. Hold the trainer with your hand on the E-Unit (black part on the main body). Make sure that the openings near the wheels are not obstructed. Now place the trainer in your mouth so that your lips cover the outer shield of the mouthpiece to make a seal. Look straight forward, looking down can cause more salivating.

How do I connect my Airofit breathing trainer to the app?

1. Turn Bluetooth on your phone ON 
2. Open your Airofit app
3. Turn your Airofit trainer ON by pressing the button quick – the LED starts to blink 
4. Your trainer will be automatically connected within 15 seconds

Does the app work offline?

Yes, it does!

How do I charge my Airofit trainer?

You will find the charging plug inside the removable E-unit. Insert your Micro USB cable to charge your Airofit trainer. If the light on the button is blinking green you have inserted the cable correctly and your Airofit is charging. Once fully charged, the button will light green.

Will Airofit add more programs or sessions to the app in the future?

Yes! The app and its content will constantly be under development, and new training sessions and programs will be added.

How do I track my results?

Select the “Activity” icon on the navigation panel at the bottom of your screen. Here you can find your training progress and statistics.

How do I delete Airofit data and activities in the app?

Both training session and lung test data can be deleted when viewed under the ‘Activity’ page.

How do I set up reminders?

Open your app and select the Settings icon in the top right corner of the Home screen. Scroll down to the Program section and turn receiving notifications on. Then select the daily reminder time and choose when you want to be reminded.

Why can I only set one reminder when Airofit recommend to train 2 times a day?

The reminder is to remind you to train every day, not at a specific time.

How do I change or reset my password in the Airofit app?

Open your app and select the Settings icon in the top right corner of the Home screen. The password can be reset in the Account section.

I have forgotten my password to the Airofit app. What should I do?

Open your app, click on “Already have an account – login here”. Then you should select “Forgot password – click here”.

How do I change the language in the Airofit app?

Open your app and select the Settings icon in the top right corner of the Home screen. Scroll down to the About section and choose Language.

Payments

How can I pay for the Airofit breathing trainer?

Airofit accepts Visa, MasterCard and American Express payment cards, as well as Google Pay, Apple Pay and PayPal. Online payment is both fast and secure. All transactions are processed through an encrypted payment getaway and we use leading security and fraud protection systems. Once your order has been completed, you will receive a confirmation email containing a receipt for your transaction.

Please note that when using PayPal, the checkout will be done in US DOLLARS.
Due to the European Union trade agreements and requirements, prices within the EU zone include the Danish rate of VAT (25%) and all other import taxes within the EU. If your order is shipped to a destination outside the EU, Airofit is not allowed to charge any additional fees. This means you might be subject to additional tax, customs and import duties by your local government. You will be contacted in case of any extra charges or customs clearance. Be aware that this may delay the shipment since the goods will be held back in customs.
